Weekly Update #1

Hello everybody!!

In my first full week here at RHS, I’m starting to settle in a bit more and getting to know each of you, little by little. I’m getting comfy in my desk in guidance and Raymond as a whole is slowly becoming more familiar.

SCHOLARS
Though this is only my third day in the school, I’ve gotten a chance to sit down with some of you and been lucky to bump into others. You’ve all given me ideas of how we can work together over these next couple of months.

There’s fortunately a few weeks left in the 2nd quarter and, with midterms just around the corner, let’s collaborate to make sure we’ll all be able to finish this term strong! Please reach out to me if you need any help at all. After talking with each of you and some of your teachers, it seems to me that the biggest things we can tackle include
Live action shot of Cam taking an AP Calculus quiz!
  1. Making sure to complete and turn in all homework assignments (ideally on time)
  2. Outlining a study schedule for our midterm exams, so as to get started studying early
  3. Doing some finishing touches on our remaining college applications, making sure each school has all important information
We’ll hopefully be able to coordinate a group dinner outing, so please keep your ears perked for available evenings and let me know when/where you’d be interested in going. So far, Applebee’s seems to be a fan-favorite….[and by fan, I mean to say I’ve only really chatted with Cam about it] :)

PARENTS
I hope your new year has gotten off to a great start! Please know that I hope to contact each of you at some point by the end of the week to introduce myself and get to know you a little bit better!

Swing by RHS for a FAFSA Filing Session TONIGHT (1/12/16) in the computer lab next to the Guidance Office. Guidance counselors will instruct and help parents walk through online FAFSA forms. This could be a super helpful opportunity to anyone new to FAFSA; plus, I’ll be there, so we could meet each other in person! :)

With a Teacher In Service Day this Friday (11/15) and Civil Rights Day (11/18) next Monday, RHS is finding itself with a four day weekend! Savor it and make good use of these extra days to relax and catch up on work. :P
