So here we go, the first installation of the Raymond High School:
SEAD Weekly Update!
It's been a busy week over here in Raymond - here's just a taste of everything that's been going on:
- I met with all of the students individually this week, and we had our FIRST EVER group meeting of the term
- Letters have been mailed out to all SEAD parents and guardians - hopefully they've all arrived by now! PARENTS: I will be calling home sometime next week (the week of Oct. 5th) just to introduce myself and to get to know you. I'm also in the middle of planning our SEAD family dinner for later this term, so be on the lookout in the coming weeks for more information about it. This has always been a super fun event in the past, and I'm really excited to meet you all!
- The students started their PSAT practice camps this past Saturday, and they will continue with this over the next two weeks. Keep taking advantage of this great opportunity!
- Speaking of great opportunities: STUDENTS, don't forget to sign up for the College Greenlight online college fair that takes place this WEDNESDAY from 4-8pm. You don't have to be online for the entire time; just log-on and check it out whenever you have the time. Did I mention that you can win $1,000 just by interacting with THREE colleges at the fair!
- Also, STUDENTS: keep doing your WilsonPrep exercises! This is a fantastic way to prepare for the SAT, and it only takes 10 minutes a day! PARENTS, don't forget to ask your students about their progress on this great resource!
- And finally: There's a college fair at UNH taking place next Tuesday and I fully expect all SEAD students to go to this. It's totally free to the students, and there are going to be so many colleges and universities there that fit their interests and needs. PARENTS: ask your student if they've signed up yet and what they're most looking forward to about this trip!
I think that's about it for now, folks. Keep checking back here for more weekly updates, as well as our new spotlight on our SEAD students and events!
Your friendly neighborhood intern,
Katherine
